I've just finished reading J.M.G. Le Clézio's novel 'Révolutions'(Swedish title: 'Allt är vind'). It's about how we all are echo chambers of what came before us, what happened to our parents, our fore fathers, and how all that is embedded within our minds and souls. In that, the novel captures the circularity of time and space which bind us, the now and then, together; i e me living in Sweden today with the peasant woman living in Sweden in the 1870's or as Le Clézio tells it - the lost young man in Nice in the Sixties with the lost young man leaving the poverty of France after the Revolution in 1795 for a new life in a far-off foreign land. It's a grand novel and an important one.
