New Ancient Strings

I've been listening to heaven all day. Toumani Diabaté's 'New Ancient Strings'.
I've got nothing to say about it. It's like that with great music - no words can describe what it does to you, what it tells you, where it takes you.
Happiness. Stillness.

Tomorrow is the day when my album will see light of day, old-school terms of speaking.
I will do a small intimate show with friends at the record shop Pet Sounds in Stockholm at 5.30 PM. Later that evening I'll be performing something on the live broadcast show at ZTV.

Reveries

I tried catching the lunar eclipse last night but the Gothenburg night was too cloudy. But then I comforted myself with imagining what it would be like out there in the universe when all that wonderous re-arrangement takes place. I couldn't really but then I came to think of how beautiful and perfect my beloved friends Pacific's album is and how all that perfect symmetry takes place within their music as well as all around us, all the time. Their album 'Reveries' is out on the 27th of February - and let me tell you, it just happens to be on the very same day that my album will be released. Perfect haphazard or just perfect symmetry.

guido!

Lately I've been doing a bunch of interviews trying to explain what my new album is all about. It's been trickier than I thought at first. Maybe because of the fact that I've been keeping it inside of me for so long that it for me is completely natural and logic. It's as if I take for certain that other people will find it as logic as I do. And I realize, doing all these interviews, that I can't do that.
That's why I bless this blog. With it I can help shed some more light, going deeper into the world I was trying to give sound to, take the time that is needed to explain what I was thinking. The time that rarely seem to be given in interview situations.
It comes back to me, bit by bit. The journey I started, the pebbles I found on the way that seemed to have been left there for me to pick up as I was working on the album.
The other day I recalled one of those pebbles when I saw Federico Fellini's 8 1/2. That film is a complete wonder. How it seem to talk to you like whispers in a dream. All my note books collected throughout the work of the album has 8 1/2 written in it. As a reminder.
Just thought I'd give you a hint.

our daily bread

Can someone please just come forward and help us remember how there once was a way for us to live in harmony with this planet! I don't want to be a part of this anymore. Where do I sign off?
