the missing piece

Björn from Pacific! came by the studio the other day to record some stuff. It sounds so beautiful now and I'm so happy we got the time to do it. It wouldn't have been the same without him.
Guess he was the missing piece.
Don't forget to check out Pacific! if you've by any chance should have missed them. They're pure gold.

I do not want what I haven't got

I'm back in my familiar part of the world again. And although I promised myself I , when I'd get back home, would turn myself off from the constant flow of the useless information, the bad knowledge and just the common old lies that we're so used to being fed here - I soon just had to surrender. It's just not possible. I even found out about the news of yet another fool in our ruling government as I was sitting on the plane looking out the window at the endless miles of miserable slum just beside the airport in Mumbai. I could see children flying their kites, still marvelled by the neverending flow of planes taking off next to their courtyard. This is crazy, I said to myself as I turned the pages of the Swedish tabloid daily. It's all crazy.

In search of something good I (naturally) ended up looking for comforting nostalgia on you tube.
I found this beauty and realized it was a long time since I listened to her music. She meant alot to me back then and when having gone through some of her old albums I realize she still does.
And tell me why, why don't they do videos like these nowadays? The 90's were full of them. Deadly serious in all their drama and heavy religious symbolism. And the aesthetics! It's just glorious. Makes me want to look up all of Peter Gabriel's videos again.

Now it's back to the studio to finish what I started.

the gateway home

The gateway of India stands proudly in the harbour of Mumbai. The British built it in 1911 to comemorate King George V and Queen Mary's visit but also to comemorate all of the future visits of the British to India. The plan was that it would be the gateway all Britons were to enter through when they arrived in India by ship. It took some time to build it though and it wasn't officially opened until 1924. And it wasn't going to last for long either.
In 1948, shortly after India had celebrated their longed-for Independence, the last British military troup passed through the gate the opposite direction.
Back to England it was.
